Troubleshooting
Use this page when PRIORITYwave, a remote, Bluetooth, or the cabinet does not respond as expected.
If traffic behavior is unexpected, stop sending commands and follow local agency procedures before troubleshooting equipment.
Quick Checks
Before troubleshooting a specific symptom, confirm:
- The device has reliable power.
- The cabinet is switched to manual control.
- The signal cable is fully seated at the device and cabinet.
- The operator has visual contact with traffic.
- A paired remote or the Manual Control screen is being used.
- The touchscreen status bar does not show an obvious battery or problem state.
Receiver Will Not Power On
The receiver runs on a built-in rechargeable battery.
- Connect it over USB-C to the included Anker backup battery, or any standard USB-C power source, and let it charge.
- Power the receiver on.
- If it still will not start, or the touchscreen stays dark while charging, contact support.
Signal Does Not Advance
- Confirm the cabinet is in
ManualorHand Control. - Confirm the signal cable is connected to the cabinet manual push-button port.
- Try the Manual Control screen.
- Watch for the command activity indicator in the status bar, and listen for the receiver's audible click — both confirm the command was sent.
- If the receiver accepts the command but the signal does not change, re-check cabinet mode, the signal cable, and traffic controller timing.
- If the receiver does not accept commands, contact support.
Traffic controllers may delay a commanded movement because of pedestrian timing, clearance intervals, protected phases, or preemption.
See How Signal Timing Works if the receiver accepts the command but visible signal movement is delayed.
Remote Does Not Work
- Confirm the remote has power — pressing the button should light the LED ring around it. Charge the remote if it does not respond.
- Move closer to the receiver.
- Confirm at least one remote is paired on the Wireless Control screen.
- Open
Settings>Paired RF Remotesand confirm the remote appears. - Pair the remote again if needed.
PRIORITYwave supports up to four paired remotes. If all slots are full, delete an unused remote before pairing another one.
Bluetooth Does Not Connect
- Open the Bluetooth screen and confirm Bluetooth is enabled.
- Disconnect any current Bluetooth session.
- Start pairing again.
- If pairing still fails, clear saved Bluetooth devices in Settings.
- Remove the old pairing from the mobile device before reconnecting.
Touchscreen Is Locked
Tap Unlock and enter the saved 4-digit PIN.
If the PIN is not available, remove the device from service and contact support.
Screen Is Off
Tap the screen once to wake the backlight. The first touch only wakes the screen; tap again to press a control.
Use Settings > Screen Off After to change the display sleep setting.
Device Shows a Problem Screen
The problem screen appears when the receiver cannot continue normal operation.

If this screen appears:
- Keep the device powered.
- Record the message shown on screen.
- Disconnect and reconnect only if local procedure allows it.
- Contact support if the problem remains.
Firmware Update Does Not Complete
- Keep the device powered.
- Wait at least one minute for restart or recovery.
- Record any on-screen message.
- Contact support if normal operation does not return.
See Warranty and Support for service and support contact information.
