Long-Range Remote
The long-range remote sends Advance commands to PRIORITYwave from farther away than Bluetooth or short-range remotes.
This page covers the remote itself. To pair, list, or remove remotes on the receiver, see Pair and Manage Remotes.
Batteries
The LoRa remote runs on standard replaceable AA batteries, which are included.
- The remote powers fully off between uses to conserve battery, so a set of AA batteries lasts a long time under normal field use.
- Replace all batteries at once with fresh AA cells when the remote no longer responds reliably.
Using the Remote
The remote has a single button surrounded by an LED ring. Operation is one press per advance:
- Confirm the cabinet is in manual mode and the receiver is powered on.
- Press the button once. The LED ring lights, the remote sends the advance, and it reports the result on the ring (below).
- Watch the signal and wait for the controller to service the command.
The remote sends a single command per press and then powers itself off. Holding the button down does not send repeated commands. Press again to send another advance.
LED Button Ring
The ring is a single color; the pattern tells you what happened:
| Ring pattern | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Solid on | The remote is powered on and sending — it stays lit while the button is pressed, while it transmits, and while it waits for the receiver to confirm. |
| 3 quick flashes | The advance was confirmed by the receiver. |
| 5 quick flashes | The remote paired successfully with a receiver (learn mode). |
| Rapid blinking | The command failed — the receiver did not confirm it. Move closer to the receiver and press again. |
| Fades out | The remote is powering off after finishing. |
The remote does not have a low-battery light. If presses stop being confirmed even when you are close to the receiver, replace the AA batteries.
Pairing the Remote
A new remote must be paired to the receiver before it will work:
- On the receiver, open
Settings>Paired RF Remotes>Pair a Remote. - The receiver opens a 30-second learn window.
- Press the remote's button once. When pairing completes, the remote shows 5 quick flashes and the receiver shows a success screen.
A receiver can store up to four paired remotes. If all four slots are full, remove an unused remote before pairing a new one. See Pair and Manage Remotes for managing paired remotes.
Range and Reliability
The LoRa remote uses a long-range radio, and only remotes paired to a receiver can control it. Actual range depends on terrain, obstructions, and mounting. If a command is not confirmed:
- Move closer to the receiver and press again.
- Confirm the receiver is powered on and the remote is paired to it.
- Replace the remote's AA batteries if commands remain unconfirmed at close range.
