Device Basics

Use this page to identify the receiver controls, charging port, signal cable jack, status light, and battery behavior.

Status Light

PRIORITYwave has one status light for power, charging, pairing, and command activity.

Blue

Blue patternMeaning
Steady onThe receiver is powered on and running on battery.
Single brief flashAn advance command was accepted from a remote, the touchscreen, or the app.
Slow pulsePairing mode is active for Bluetooth or a remote.

Red and Green (while charging)

When USB-C is connected, the light shows charging status:

  • Red — the battery is charging.
  • Green — the battery is fully charged.
note

You can turn the blue status LED off in Settings > Power LED. The device continues to operate normally with the LED off. See Settings.

USB-C Charging

The receiver charges through its USB-C port.

  • You can use any reputable USB-C cable with a standard 5 V USB power source, including a wall adapter or a portable battery pack.
  • Plugging in USB-C wakes the device and begins charging.
  • The port is for charging only. It is not used for data.
tip

For long deployments, keep a USB-C power bank connected. Because any 5 V USB-C source works, a standard phone charger or field battery pack will keep the receiver topped up.

Signal Cable Jack

The jack on the top right connects PRIORITYwave to the traffic cabinet.

  • Use the included 3.5 mm TRS to 1/4" TRS cable. Any reputable cable of the same type may be substituted.
  • Connect the 3.5 mm end to the receiver's jack and the 1/4" end to the cabinet's manual push-button input. The cabinet port may be labeled PB Manual Cord, Push Button, Manual, or similar.
  • Confirm the cable is fully seated at both ends before sending commands.

When a command is accepted, the receiver sends a manual advance through this cable. See Getting Started for the full cabinet connection procedure.

Power Switch

The power switch is a simple on/off switch on the device.

  • Switch it on to power up. The touchscreen starts, and the operating screens appear when the receiver is ready.
  • Switch it off to power the device down completely.

There is no press-and-hold behavior. The switch directly turns the receiver on and off.

Battery

PRIORITYwave runs from a large internal rechargeable battery.

  • The battery level is shown as a percentage in the top status bar on the operating screens.
  • The receiver keeps a small reserve, so the battery may read 0% while a little charge still remains. At that point the receiver stops accepting advance commands to protect itself until you connect USB-C.
  • A charging bolt appears on the battery indicator while USB-C is connected.

Recharge over USB-C before the battery runs low.
