Power Solutions FAQ

Do Power Solutions work with all traffic signal cabinets?

Power Solutions are designed for traffic signal cabinets equipped with an external generator input port. Not all cabinets have this feature — contact your traffic engineering department to confirm compatibility and power requirements before ordering. We're happy to help with questions about your specific setup.

How does portable battery power compare to a generator?

Battery power has several advantages: it is completely silent (no engine noise), produces zero emissions (safe to use anywhere, including near crowds), needs no fuel (recharge from any outlet), and turns on instantly (no pull-starts or warm-up). A ~42 lb power station is also far easier to deploy than an 80+ lb generator. The main trade-off is runtime — batteries provide several hours depending on the load, while a generator runs as long as it has fuel. For temporary outages, batteries are vastly superior; for multi-day outages, a generator may be necessary.

How long will the power station run my traffic signals?

Runtime depends on your cabinet's power consumption. The C2000 (2,048 Wh) provides roughly 6 hours at a 3 A load, suitable for standard intersections. The F3000 (3,072 Wh) offers higher capacity and output for cabinets with additional equipment such as signal heaters. Actual runtime varies with your specific load — we can help you estimate it for your setup.

Can I use Power Solutions with PRIORITYwave?

Yes — this is our recommended Complete Response Bundle. Power alone gets the lights back on; pairing it with PRIORITYwave gives responders full control to clear the congestion that built up during the outage. You can manually extend green times, hold traffic, and restore normal flow while staying out of harm's way.
