Troubleshooting

App not finding, connecting to, or controlling your receiver? Work through the matching section below.

warning

If the traffic signal is doing something unexpected, stop sending commands and follow your agency's procedures first.

Receiver Doesn't Appear in the List

  1. Make sure the receiver is in pairing mode: on its touchscreen, Bluetooth > Pair a Device. The window lasts two minutes — restart it if it lapsed.
  2. Keep the phone close to the receiver while scanning.
  3. Check the Select a Device screen isn't showing a Bluetooth message — if Bluetooth is off or the app lacks permission, it says so with a button to the right setting.
  4. Still nothing? Close and reopen the app.

Pairing Fails

  1. Confirm the receiver's two-minute pairing window is still open, then try again from the device list.
  2. If the app says the pairing is out of sync, follow the fix in Connect a Device — clear Bluetooth devices on the receiver, forget it in the phone's Bluetooth settings, and pair fresh.
  3. If the receiver may be connected to another phone, disconnect it there first — a receiver talks to one phone at a time.

Out of Range or Disconnected

Move closer to the receiver and keep the app open — it reconnects automatically. If the connection never recovers, confirm the receiver is powered on, then disconnect from Settings and pair again.

Advance Won't Send

  1. Check the Control screen shows Connected — the slider is disabled otherwise.
  2. Move closer if signal strength reads Weak.
  3. Try the slide again; if the app reports Advance Failed, the receiver didn't respond — usually a range issue.

If the app says Advance Confirmed but the lights don't change right away, that's normally the traffic controller finishing a pedestrian countdown or safety interval — see How Signal Timing Works. Also double-check the cabinet is switched to manual.

Notifications Don't Appear

  1. In app Settings, check the Battery and Range notification toggles are on.
  2. In phone settings, check notifications are allowed for CommandSignal.

Watch Isn't Working

Each watch page has its own quick checklist: Apple Watch, Wear OS, Garmin. The universal fix: make sure the phone app is open and Connected, keep the phone nearby, and reopen the watch app.

Firmware Update Won't Complete

Keep the receiver powered, keep the app open nearby, and retry from the Firmware screen. A failed update doesn't harm the receiver. If it keeps failing, note the error message and get in touch.
