Auto Advance

Auto Advance is an experimental feature on iPhone and Android. It watches the timing of manual Advance commands, then can continue that pattern while the operator stays on the Control screen.

warning

Auto Advance requires active supervision. The operator remains responsible for traffic conditions and must be ready to pause, extend, or return to manual control.

Enable Auto Advance

Open Settings and turn on Enable Experimental Features. The Control screen then shows Manual and Auto Advance tabs.

Let the App Learn the Cycle

Continue operating manually until the app has enough consistent Advance timing to detect a repeating cycle.

The app may show:

  • Learning while it is collecting timing intervals.
  • Ready when a cycle has been learned.
  • Needs Relearn when recent timing no longer matches the learned pattern.
  • Error if automatic scheduling cannot continue.

Automatic advances do not teach the app by themselves. If field conditions change, pause Auto Advance and return to manual control until the timing is clear again.

Start Auto Advance

When Auto Advance is ready, use the primary button to start automatic scheduling. The app shows the current phase, countdown, and timing details.

Auto Advance only starts when the receiver is connected and the app has learned a cycle.

Pause, Resume, and Extend

Use the Auto Advance controls to:

  • Pause automatic scheduling.
  • Resume after a manual pause.
  • Add +30 sec to the current phase.
  • Send an immediate manual Advance when needed.

Extending the current phase changes the active countdown.

Leaving the Screen

Auto Advance is designed for active foreground supervision. If the app becomes inactive or enters the background, the app stops foreground work and pauses automatic scheduling. Return to the app and confirm the current state before resuming.

Switching back to Manual mode stops Auto Advance scheduling.
